Millenerpoort rugs

Materials

At Millenerpoort, you can customize your new rug completely to match your own preferences. You can choose the materials used, the shape, dimension, colors and carpet height. On this page, we explain all about the three quality materials we use in our rugs: Wool, Linen and Eucalyptus (Tencel).

100% New Zealand wool
100% New Zealand wool

Our 100% New Zealand wool is a real quality product, which we use in our rugs for over 45 years already. It is colored to perfectly match our 87 base colors every time. By combining our base colors you can always configure a color blend which will fit your interior. And, if needed, we can request a specific color to be made just for your rug. The New Zealand wool gives all rugs a sturdy feeling and guarantees a quality product which can be enjoyed for many years. Do you want to create your own rug with our woolen threads? Then maybe our Bella Basso, Eterno or Infinity rugs are to your liking!

Linen
Linen

A very natural and durable quality material we use in a couple of our products is Linen. It is less sturdy than wool, so we use it in rugs which should feel warm and luxurious, but don’t need to be very tough. We use linen especially often in high pile rugs, or combined with other materials in the same carpet pile. Do you want to create your own rug with 100% Linen threads? Eucalyptus (Tencel)
Eucalyptus (Tencel)

If you see a Millenerpoort rug which has a (semi) gloss shine to it, it has at least a couple of threads in the carpet pile which are made of Eucalyptus (Tencel). Eucalyptus threads are a beautiful, soft material which give the rug a luxurious feel. Most often we use Eucalyptus combined with Woolen threads to give the rug some additional sturdiness, but our Salina and Salina Cube rugs are made out of piles containing 100% eucalyptus threads.
